About Philip N. Williams


I was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1964 and raised in Vancouver. I graduated from St. George’s School , Vancouver, B.C. in 1982. From 1982 to 1985 I attended the University of British Columbia, majoring in Philosophy. From 1985 to 1988 I attended law school at the University of Victoria. I was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1989 and have been in continuous practice since that time. In 1998, I was called to the Alberta Bar.

In 2003, I was retained by the Province of British Columbia to consult on significant changes to the Insurance (Motor Vehicle) Act, which governs car insurance and the system of compensation that flows from that insurance.

In peer rating conducted by Martindale-Hubbell, I have been received the following ratings from my colleagues:
